The Hand Papermaking Community Documentation Project is a collaborative effort to document the evolution and genealogy of hand papermaking from the time of its re-emergence in the early 1900s up through the present in the United States and worldwide.
We know the extent of this project is immense, but we hope to gather information and data from hand papermakers that accurately reflects how they learned to make paper, the extent of their practice, and how they pass that knowledge on to others.
As information is collected through our survey, this website will grow and expand to include new individuals and organizations, listing them individually as well as linking them to each other.
Please check back regularly to see our progress!
